UK LIGHTHOUSES
The Patricia , operated by Trinity House (the lighthouse
authority for England, Wales and the Channel
Isles), sails around the UK coastline checking up on
lighthouses, lightships, buoys and even the occasional
wreck. As the ship is regularly used by members
of the Royal Family (Prince Philip is Master of the
Corporation of Trinity House), accommodation in its
six cabins is of a high standard and the food and wine
selection a highlight. Depending on the position of the
vessel, embarkation and disembarkation take place at
various ports around the coast of England and Wales,
including Harwich, Southampton and Swansea, and
voyagers can join it for periods of between one and
three weeks watching essential maintenance work
