components. When OR = 1, around 0.5 ppm N 2 O 4 exists in the gas phase. The OR
in the simulated flue gas is around 0.97, resulting in NO 2 accounting for 99.8% of
the simulated NO x . Therefore, this study mostly focuses on NO 2 .

To evaluate the pH effect on the NO 2 removal, solutions with different
concentrations of H ion were prepared, which include H + , OH , and some inert
hydroxyl ions. Under these circumstances, only pH can be taken as the potential
factor that affecting the NO 2 removal. Accordingly, Fig. 4.3 illustrates the NO 2
removal performance with respect to pH.
