elementary reaction j .
The matrix F is denoted as the sensitivity matrix. The eigenvalues and
eigenvectors of the matrix F T F are calculated. Each eigenvalue corresponds to an
eigenvector, and each element of the eigenvector represents an elementary
reaction. The absolute value of the eigenvector element represents the elementary
reaction importance with respect to the species concentration.
3.2 Kinetic Modelling Results
3.2.1 Kinetic Modelling Between O 3 and NO x
NO x -related chemical reactions are analyzed, and the key steps while O 3 oxidizes
NO x are determined necessarily. During the sensitivity analysis process, the gas
components which are taken into consideration basically consist of 6.39% O 2 , 204
ppm NO, and 5% H 2 O. The balance gas is N 2 and the temperature is 150 °C.
Results of the sensitivity analysis are shown in Figs. 3.1 - 3.4. The sensitivity
analysis provides a variety of parameters for the quantitative analysis of modelling
results. By analyzing the dimensionless sensitivity coefficient of different species,
the importance of different elementary reactions in the production and
consumption of various species can be essentially determined.

of O 3
In Fig. 3.1, O 3 sensitivity coefficients change definitely over time. Within 0.2 s,
the elementary reaction O 3 +NO = NO 2 +O 2 plays an important role on O 3
consumption. And in this time, the O 3 self-decomposition and reaction degree of
