as that shown in Figure 4.5 will appear. Under the Function category, “User Defined” must be
selected. Notice that the VBA functions in the user-defined category are prefixed with the name of
the Workbook that the function resides in. To utilize the function just created to factor quadratic
equations, the item labeled “ADAUsingExcel.xls!AdvQuadEq” must be selected.
Suppose the roots of Equation 4.4 wish to be computed in a Worksheet. The coefficients of
Equation 4.4 can be placed in the Worksheet as shown in Figure 4.6. The coefficients for Equation 4.4
