AHMEDABAD
Ahmedabad was founded in 1411, is located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, and
was named after Sultan Ahmed Shah who was primarily responsible for building it. Today,
the city is known as India's textile city and second largest industrial city in western India.
Ahmedabad is the largest city in Gujarat and the last stop on this intensely, interesting ex-
ploration, with 5-1/2 million people, 2 million motorcycles, 60,000 tuk-tuks and lots to see .
