TOP 5 ITALIAN RESTAURANTS
Italians are São Paulo's biggest ethnic
minority, and the city's Italian
restaurants range from family-run
cantinas and pizzerias to elegant,
expensive establishments. For the most
part, Italian restaurateurs are the children
or grandchildren of immigrants, and
they've adapted mainly northern Italian
recipes to suit Brazilian tastes as well as the
availability of ingredients. São Paulo's “Little
Italy”, Bixiga , has a lot of Italian restaurants
as you'd expect, but the food there is
nothing special, and you'll find higher-
quality dishes in other neighbourhoods.
