6.
Save the Word document.
7.
Back in Captivate, determine whether you want to import the cap-
tions back into the same movie (as when correcting a product
name) or into a copy of the movie (if, for example, you want to
make copies of the movie in several languages).
Tip: When you import the captions, the original captions will be
overwritten. You may want to store a copy of the movie as a backup
before importing.
8.
Open the copy of the movie where you want the new captions.
9.
From the File menu, select
Import
, and then
Project captions
and closed captions
to display a window containing the files in
the default folder.
Note: This option is only active for projects that have exported the
captions already (or copies of projects that exported captions).
10. Select the file containing the new captions, and then click
Open
to
import the edited captions into the current movie.
11. A message is displayed when the import is complete. Click
OK
to
close the confirmation dialog.
Exporting Captions to an XML File
To export, edit, and import text captions using an XML localization
interchange file format (XLIFF), follow these steps:
1.
From the File menu, select
Export
, and then choose
XML
to dis-
play a standard Save As window.
2.
Captivate defaults to using the same name and same directory as
the project for your exported project text. You can leave this name
as-is or type a new file name for the XML file. You can also specify
a different directory or folder.
3.
Click
Save
to store the captions in an XML file and display a con-
firmation dialog.
