Adding Audio to a MenuBuilder Slide
You can add sound effects to a MenuBuilder slide by specifying an
existing WAV, MP3, or WMA file and setting the file to play at one of
four times:
Mouse Click—Plays a sound file when the viewer clicks the
mouse.
Mouse Hover—Plays a sound file when the viewer moves the cur-
sor over a link.
On Start—Plays a sound file when the menu slide first displays.
Background—Plays a sound file for the duration of the menu slide
display.
The files must exist already (you can't record in MenuBuilder), and
you can't associate them with specific menu items. For example, when
you specify a mouse hover sound, the same sound plays for each of the
links in the menu.
To add audio files to your MenuBuilder slide, follow these steps:
1.
Do one of the following to open the MenuBuilder Audio Options
window, as shown in Figure 12-32:
From the Options menu, choose Audio Options .
Press the F5 key on your keyboard.
From the Project Tasks list on the left side of the screen, click
Change audio settings .
From the top of the screen, click the Audio icon.
2.
Type the location of the audio file, or use the Browse button next
to each of the action text boxes to point to the file you want to play
for each action.
3.
Click the Audio icon next to any of the listed actions to hear the
sound currently associated with that action.
