Defining Rating Scale (Likert) Questions and Answers
A rating scale (Likert) question asks respondents to rate a statement
in terms of how strongly they agree or disagree with the statement.
The Likert scale is usually five to seven possible responses, such as
“strongly agree,” “somewhat agree,” “neutral,” “disagree,” etc. This
is by default a subjective type of question, asking for the viewer's opin-
ion, so there are no right or wrong answers.
Captivate gives you a lot of control over how your Likert question
slide looks. You can control the number of possible responses on your
scale. For example, for some questions you might want to include five
options, to allow the viewer to select the middle one as a neutral
response. For others you might want to list an even number of
responses, to make sure that the viewer chooses one side or the other.
You can label all of the elements on the scale or just some of them, and
you can use whatever text you want for the labels.
