In-Depth Information
5.
You can specify that Captivate import the image but make the
background color of the image transparent. For example, if you are
adding a logo that is a custom shape, such as a shield, you might
not want the rectangular outline of the image file to show.
Be careful to check your images after you import them, partic-
ularly if you use a transparent background. Captivate will make all
areas that are the color of the background transparent. For example,
if you have an image of a black circle with white lettering and a
white background, and you make the white background transparent,
then Captivate will make all white portions of the image transparent
(including the letters). If this isn't the look you wanted, use a graphics
program to make the background or the letters slightly different
shades of white.

6.
The changes you make to the properties will be applied to all sub-
sequent rollover images. If you want to apply these changes to all
rollover images that are already in the movie, click Apply to all to
apply the current settings as defined in the properties window. To
view or change the properties settings, click the Settings button.
Tip: If you want the rollover area to be invisible, set the frame width
to zero and the frame fill to 100% transparency.
7. You can click the Options tab to set transitions, as described in
Chapter 7, or click the Audio tab to set audio properties, which are
described in Chapter 8.
8. Click OK to display the new rollover image in your slide. By
default, the rollover area and image are in the center of the slide.
9. Click and drag the image to the location where you want it to
appear when the viewer rolls the mouse over the designated area.
10. Click and drag the rollover image box—it's difficult to see, particu-
larly if the slide is very busy—from the center of the slide to the
area where you want the viewer to move the mouse. In this exam-
ple, we'll drag the outline that surrounds the words “rollover
image” to the area of the map that corresponds to the close-up
image (the area around Jerusalem).
