Tip:
For easier editing later, do not speak while you are doing
actions, but instead speak and then click the mouse or choose a
menu item. Remember, each slide gets a separate audio file, and
each time you click usually creates a new slide. You don't want to
end up with half a word on one audio file and half on the next.
Although they should play seamlessly when you publish the movie,
splits like this could make adding or deleting slides more difficult.
11. When you finish, press the End key to stop recording, generate
the slides and audio files, and display the new project in Story-
board view.
Recording Audio for Individual Elements
In some cases, you may want to record an audio file that will play when
a specific element displays, such as a click box or caption. Captivate
lets you record audio or import existing audio files for each element. If
you're importing audio, you can choose from the library of sounds that
comes with Captivate or import a sound file of your own.
To record an audio file for a specific element on a slide, follow
these steps:
1.
Open the slide that contains the element to which you want to add
audio.
2.
Double-click the element to display the properties for that
element.
3.
Click the Audio tab to display the audio properties. Figure 8-7
shows the audio settings for a text caption, but all elements have
similar audio properties.
