Deleting Elements
When you delete an element from a slide, you're deleting it perma-
nently. Make sure this is what you want to do before you start to
delete!
Tip:
If you change your mind about anything you do within Capti-
vate, you can use the Undo function to step back through actions
you've performed since you opened the project. Choose Undo from
the Edit menu or press Ctrl+Z to undo the previous action.
To delete an element, follow these steps:
1.
Select the slide that contains the element you want to delete and
open it in Edit view.
2.
Select the element you want to delete.
3.
Do any one of the following:
From the Edit menu, choose Delete .
Right-click on the element to display the pop-up menu, then
choose Delete .
Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Whichever method you use, a confirmation dialog appears.
Figure 7-31. Confirm that you want to delete the element.
4.
Confirm that you want to delete the element by clicking Ye s ,or
cancel by clicking No .
Tip:
Although you can click the Don't ask me this again check box
in the delete confirmation dialog to save a mouse click whenever
you're deleting, it is a good idea to leave this unchecked. Once
deleted, you cannot retrieve elements, and an extra confirmation
step may one day save your project from accidental disaster.
