In-Depth Information
Text animations are predefined animations that come with Capti-
vate. Use these to make any text you enter move in various ways.
For all three animation types you can modify parameters such as trans-
parency, timing, and transitions.
Importing Animations
You can import files in valid animation formats into your Captivate
project. Like the full-motion recording, these mini-movies will be
stored on a single slide. You'll be able to modify the placement of the
animation, as well as the other standard element properties.
Tip:
Captivate comes with a gallery of animated arrows and boxes
that you can import into your movies. By default, they're stored in
the Captivate\Gallery\SWF Animation folder.
To import an animation, follow these steps:
1.
In Edit view, open the slide on which you want the animation.
2.
From the Insert menu, select Animation or click the Animation
icon (
) to open the last-viewed folder.
3.
Browse to the appropriate folder and choose the animation you
want to import. For this example, we'll import an animation from
the Captivate Gallery that shows a blue arrow moving diagonally
downward (Captivate\Gallery\SWF Animation\Arrows\Blue
Fade\downleft.swf).
4.
Click OK to open the selected animation in the New Animation
window. A preview of the animation displays on the left side of the
window; statistics for the animation display on the right side of the
window.
