Parks
Joseph Davis State Park (4143 Lower River Rd., Lewiston, 716/754-4596,
www.nysparks.com , dawn-dusk daily, free) has excellent largemouth bass fishing in old
quarry pits filled with water. There are picnic facilities, a nature trail, and a 27-hole disc
golf course.
Fishing and Boating
A boat launch is available at the Village of Lewiston Marina (145 N. 4th St., Lewiston,
716/754-8271, dawn-dusk daily, free Mon.-Wed., $14 Thurs.-Sun.), also known as the
Sands Dock.
There are several areas for shore fishing, including the fishermen's platform at the base
of the Niagara Power Vista, along the hiking trails in Artpark, and the waterfront at the
Lewiston Marina.
Obtain a fishing license (one-day, week-long, or annual license) by phone or online

One-day non-resident licenses are $15. Fish are abundant in the Niagara River and anglers
canexpecttoencounterbass,perch,pike,salmon,sunfish,andtrout.Acompletelistoffish

Winter Activities
All state parks in this area, including Whirlpool, Devil's Hole, Joseph Davis, and Fort
Niagara, are accessible for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. However, there are no
local outfitters that rent this type of equipment, so visitors must bring their own.

or King for an Hour spa package, for a treat. The main drag of Lewiston is just a few
minutes' walk uphill.
