20-2. Configuring Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control Plug-ins
for Exadata
Problem
You wish to install Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control plug-ins for Exadata to monitor your Exadata Database
Machine components.

Solution
If you have an Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control environment, follow the instructions outlined in Recipe 20-1.
If you have a pre EM 12c Grid Control environment, please refer to MOS note 1308449.1.

How It Works
Exadata monitoring plug-ins are installed when you use the Exadata Agent Kit for Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud
Control. At the time of this writing, MOS note 144095.1 provides information about the Exadata Agent Kit.
On earlier versions of Enterprise Manager, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control, Exadata storage cells,
InfiniBand switches, and other non-compute node resources will be managed and monitored using Grid Control
plug-ins. As stated in the solution of this recipe, My Oracle Support note 1308449.1 is your best reference for installing
Exadata plug-ins for previous releases of Enterprise Manager.

20-3. Configuring Automated Service Requests
Problem
You wish to configure Automated Service Requests, or ASRs, on your Exadata Database Machine to enable for
automatic Oracle Service Request submission in the event of Exadata hardware faults.

Solution
In this recipe, you will learn how to configure ASRs for your Exadata Database Machine. First, log in to My Oracle
Support as the administrator of your Exadata hardware Customer Support Identifier (CSI) and identify your hardware
and assets. Figure 20-23 displays where to find this information.
