Post Implementation Tasks
After successfully installing your Exadata Database Machine, it's time to start migrating databases to the
machine and begin realizing the benefits of Exadata. A solid understanding of Exadata's architecture and
unique software features is a great starting point for the Exadata Database Machine administrator, but in
addition, there are a number of configuration alternatives that are important to understand and optionally
deploy in order to get the most from your investment.
The chapters in this section outline a number of these optional tasks, including a step-by-step approach
for integrating your Exadata Database Machine with Oracle Enterprise Manager, configuring your machine
with Automated Service Requests, as well as a number of compute node and database-specific performance
tasks. Not all of the recipes in the chapters in this section will be relevant to every organization, nor is the list
of recipes comprehensive in nature, but, hopefully, you will gain some insight into some of the most useful
and common post-implementation tasks that you can perform to get the most out of your Exadata Database
Machine.
