out from directly underneath you to go back down.
Hold down the Shift key as you work around the top of tall walls so you don't fall
off. You can even use this technique to place blocks on the side of your current
layer that are normally beyond sight.

A Resourceful Guide to the Creative Mode Inventory
Minecraft's resources fall into several primary categories. Some of them are a natural early
focus as you improve your position from those gathered for first-night survival; others be-
come more important as you get further through the game, gear up for your exploration of
The Nether and The End regions, and become more creative with all that Minecraft has to
offer. Here's a quick summary of the different categories. You can view all possible tools
and resources by opening your inventory in Creative mode, as shown in
Figure 3.10
.
