and drag it left or right, two vertical arrows appear on either side of the keyframe that indicate you're chan-
ging the keyframe's placement in time. Once again, you're restricted from moving the keyframe up or down
so that you don't accidentally change the volume of the clip while changing the keyframe's placement in
time.
4. To make the waveforms easier to see, open the Clip Appearance panel, click the first button to display au-
dio waveforms only, and increase the Clip Height.
5. Place a keyframe at the very start of “13. He Was My Son” by Option-clicking on the clip's horizontal
audio level line. Place a second keyframe 2 seconds later.
6. We want to fade the music's volume as Joyce says her first line of dialogue. To do so, click to select the
second keyframe and drag it down so that the on-screen display reads -14 dB (see Figure 13.11).

7. To fade the music back up after Joyce finishes her dialogue, place a third keyframe 26 seconds into “13.
He Was My Son” and a fourth keyframe at the end of the clip. Drag the fourth keyframe up so that the on-
screen display reads -7 dB (see Figure 13.12).
