Primary Storyline. Skim to 1 minute and 10 seconds in the Timeline, and play back the section. The edited
sequence ends with both characters taking a final look at Jason's photo, giving us the perfect opportunity to
cut to the slow push in on Jason's photo. Select Scene 17 Slate 33 Take 1 in the Event Browser, and press E
to append the clip.
All that remains now is to add our coda of Katie sitting on the bed waiting for Jason to reappear. We have
two takes of this shot to choose from, with the only difference being that Katie holds the ball in Take 2. We
think that Katie having the ball further reinforces the idea that she's waiting for Jason, so we choose Take 2.
Select Scene 18 Slate 70 Take 2 in the Event Browser, and press E to append the clip to the Timeline. Press
the Home key to go to the beginning and play back the completed sequence.
In the last four chapters, we've taken you through the thought process that went into the editing of many of the
scenes for Pranks. If you've been following along and made it this far, well done! You, too, have completed
editing all the sequences in the movie. However, our work is far from done—there's still a lot to do before the
movie is ready for an audience. In the last part of this topic, we'll introduce you to Final Cut Pro's effects and
show you how to build up the soundtrack and put the finishing touches on the movie by color grading and
adding titles.
