Once each SketchUp scene was finalized and saved, it was exported (File >
Export > 2D Graphic) as a high-resolution JPEG. In the Options dialog box,
Width was set to 3000 pixels, Anti-alias was checked (thereby adequately
smoothing all edges), and the JPEG Compression slider bar was moved all
the way toward Better Quality. This resulted in a 41.667” wide, 72-dpi JPEG
(I was unable to successfully export from SketchUp at resolutions higher
than 72 dpi).
This image was then opened with Photoshop, and reduced by a factor of
about 4, without resampling the image. This resulted in an image with ¼ the
FiG 13.3 SketchUp's 2D bitmap export options.
