Wastewater.samples.were.collected.in.sterile.containers.from.different.wastewater.treatment.
plants.in.Jordan..The.samples.were.brought.on.ice.to.the.laboratory.for.examination.
•. Five.milliliters.of.each.wastewater.sample.was.placed.in.a.sterile.tube.
•. Serial.dilutions.were.done,.and.0.1.ml.from.each.dilution.was.inoculated.into.nutri-
ent.agar.medium.plates.and.0.1.ml.onto.an.EMB.agar.plate.medium.and.incubated.
for.24.h.at.37°C..The.total.heterotrophic.bacterial.and.coliform.counts.(cfu/ml).on.
each.type.of.media.were.recorded.
•. The. MMNs. preparation. (200. mg). was. suspended. in. 50. ml. of. sterile. deionoized.
water.(4 mg/ml),.and.200.μl.of.this.MMN.suspension.was.added.to.the.wastewater.
tube..Four.replicates.of.the.previous.mixtures.were.used.at.different.incubation.
times.(10,.20,.30,.and.40.min).to.evaluate.the.sensitivity.of.time.in.this.assay..These.
four.replicates.of.mixtures.were.incubated.with.shaking.at.37°C.
