In-Depth Information
Supplies/materials required :
Clean Geometry checklist
Drawing supplies
Instructions :
• Select subject from examples provided in this topic or other alignment illusions
you can fi nd elsewhere.
• Determine approximate dimensions of subject using geometric reduction tech-
nique combined with knowledge of real-world dimensions.
• Make plans of subject
• Construct polygonal replica of subject
• All models must be built at 100:1 scale (1 m = 1 cm)
• Apply texture coordinates to model
• Apply reference map to model to check for distortion
• Check model against checklist and fi x all errors
• Deliver an archived fi le containing the following:
-
Scene fi le
-
Reference map
-
Scans of your two best plan drawings for this project
-
Render of the fi le using illusion-view camera. This image may not be larger
than 1,920 pixels in any dimension.
Criteria :
Your project should be complete, delivered on time, resemble the source drawing
and be built to an acceptable standard of fi nish. All checklist errors are cause to
reduce the grade. The degree to which the submitted project does not resemble the
source drawing will cause a grade reduction. Texture distortion is not allowed. If
there is distortion, the grade will be lowered. The reference map must be adequate
to its purpose. If it is not designed in a way that allows for easy distortion checking,
the grade will be reduced.
