In-Depth Information
Ifyoulookatthebottom-rightcorneroftheimageintheViewer,youwillseethat
it now says Christmas2k instead of 2048×1240 . You have now defined a format.
You can set the Full Size Format property in the Project Settings panel to the
newly defined format as well.
Note
For some formats, a value called pixel aspect ratio is needed for
the display to show the image in the correct width. This is simply a
way for older formats to present widescreen images while still us-
ing 4:3 technology. Using this value in the Format panel makes the
Viewer show the correct image. Nuke can't correctly compensate for
pixel aspect ratio in a composite. If you need to combine images
with different pixel aspect ratios, you need to use the Reformat node
(covered in Chapter 10 ) to change the resolution and pixel aspect ra-
tio of one of the images.
6. Hover over the DAG and press the S key to display the Project Settings panel.
7. Make sure the Root tab is displayed.
8. Choose Christmas2k from the Full Size Format drop-down menu.
Now when you create a Constant node, for example, it will default to the above
format and resolution.
