In-Depth Information
FIGURE 15.29 Features can be switched on and off by rules.
As you continue to expand the application of iLogic for your designs, you'll
also see that there is a tremendous amount of sample code available online and
in the product. All you need to do is swap out file, feature, or parameter names
as you've already done, and you're up and running.
Making the Rules Easy to Use
Any of the rules you create can be tested and used by changing a couple of param-
eters in the dialog box, but that is still cumbersome for many users. Using a basic
form to open and use with the tool is a great step forward in usability.
1. Make certain that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then
open c15-07.iam from the Assemblies\Chapter15 folder.
2. Open the iLogic Browser, and click the Forms tab.
3. Click the Drawer Front Size button.
The Drawer Front Size dialog box opens in the Design window. You
can test it on your assembly.
4. Set Drawer Width to 12 in and Drawer Height to 3 in, and click Apply.
An error dialog box appears (Figure 15.30), warning that the height
was below the minimum you specified in the parameter limits func-
tion of the Drawer Size Control rule.
5. Click OK so the assembly can adjust to the width entered and the
minimum height.
Note that there is only one hole in the part because it is less than
14 inches wide.
