TIP If you use a single casting as the base for multiple components, the
Derive Component tool will save you countless hours of updating machined
parts. As mentioned in the introduction, this tool has many more uses and
warrants further exploration.
Constraining and Animating Assembly Motion
In Chapter 4, I covered the majority of Assembly constraint options that hold
components in place. The Motion constraint can bind the movement of one
component to another.

Objective
1. Make certain that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then
open the c08-09.iam file from the Assemblies\Chapter​8 folder.
2. In the Position panel of the Assemble tab, click the Constrain tool.
3. In the Place Constraint dialog box, click the Motion tab.
4. Set the Ratio value to 4, and then set the Solution value to Reverse.
This tool is click-sensitive. The ratio is applied from the first selec-
tion to the second selection.
5. For the first selection, click a flat face or the end of the brass gear.
6. For the second selection, click the end of the gray shaft below it, as
shown in Figure 8.22.
