2. Go to the top icon of the Pattern panel on the 3D Model tab, and click
the Rectangular Pattern tool.
3. The dialog box requires you to select a feature, so click the counter-
bore hole created in the previous exercise.
4. Click the button with the red arrow in the Direction 1 group, and then
click the short edge from which the counterbore hole was positioned.
5. Set the number of instances to 3 and the distance between them to 34.
6. Click the icon for Direction 2, and select the longer edge from which
the hole was positioned.
7. To set the proper direction of the new instances, click the Flip button.
8. Set the number of instances to 2 and the distance to 52 per Figure 7.12.
9. Click OK to place the pattern on the part.
One of the occurrences in the pattern is not needed. It interferes
with other features of the part.
10. Locate the Rectangular Pattern1 feature in the browser, and expand it.
11. Hover over the Occurrence icons until the hole that overlaps the notch
in the part highlights, as shown in Figure 7.13.
12. Right-click and click Suppress on the context menu. The completed
feature will look like Figure 7.14.
