By sharing a sketch that defines more than one feature, you can control the
relationships between the various sketches. Now, you will focus on adding a few
placed features to complete the part.
Leveraging Primitives
So far, you've created simple shapes such as boxes and cylinders using sketched
features, but that was more about sketching than creating solid models.
Primitive shapes such as boxes, cylinders, and spheres are easier to place as
intact features. You might even want to re-create the model using these primi-
tives to explore that option. For now, you will just use one to add geometry to
the model.
1. Make certain that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then
open c03-11.ipt from the Parts\Chapter3 folder.
2. Use the menu in the Primitives panel to start the Cylinder tool.
