Navigating the WordPress Sites
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are big sites and it can be difficult
to find your way around. We want to save you some time by describing
the areas of each site, with an emphasis on where to go for specific
problems.
Some of the details might change periodically; WordPress, after all, is a
dynamic system.
Navigating WordPress.com
Blogging at WordPress.com is supposed to be easy—and it is, until you
try to push the envelope a little. As you become more familiar with
WordPress' capabilities, you may run into trouble, and find yourself look-
ing for help more often. Knowing where to look for help is often a critical
part of the battle. This section will help you find the assistance you
need.
Home Page: http://wordpress.com
As you might expect, the WordPress.com home page is targeted mainly
for people interested in blogging and convincing them to do so with
WordPress. The site is also for people who just want to browse through
blogs. The bulk of the page features 11 “freshly pressed” blog posts rep-
resenting some of the best of the last 24 hours on WordPress.com. The
12 th box offers statistics on the number of bloggers, new posts, com-
ments, and total words on the site. The right column gives visitors rea-
sons to join the blogging party at WordPress.com and the obligatory
registration link.
