6.1.3 Preloader
Since Edge Animate compositions can have a large data size (it is easy to quick-
ly reach 300 kB-500 kB), Edge Animate offers the capability to create a simple
Preloader for display until the composition is fully loaded. Edge Animate offers
two different types of Preloaders:
immediate
and
polite
. Both are very similar in
behavior except for one point: the
immediate
option attempts to immediately
load all assets required by the composition. The
polite
option waits for the HTML
document's onload event to occur before loading the assets. The latter option
can be useful for compositions with a large data volume because the loading of
the page's other static content isn't blocked.

Use the Edit button in the Preloader section of the Property panel to make
changes to the Preloader. Here again, you have access to a Stage with very lim-
ited functionality.
