5.5 Actions
Equipped with an understanding of elements and symbols, we can now turn
our attention to actions. The Edge Animate API is the basis for most of the ac-
tions you will program in Edge Animate. This API provides all functions for the
Timelines and symbols. The official, though rudimentary, documentation can be
found at:

For that reason, we will now take a look at the individual action commands in
detail before we program specific actions.
5.5.1 Code Snippets
The right side of Edge Animate's actions Code panel contains a selection of
frequently used commands known as code snippets. Select a snippet and it is
inserted on the left side of the panel at the cursor's position. Most snippets use
placeholders that you manually have to adapt to the specific situation.
