Achieving Balance in Space
Balance is a natural part of life. Physically, we need a balanced diet and a good balance
of exercise and rest. We seek balance in our personal and professional lives. (We even
have a term—work/life balance—that underscores our deep desire for it.) We can also
sense when things are not balanced. Say that you walk into a house you're thinking of
buying, and you feel that the floors are uneven and then notice that the beams are not
perfectly straight, and so on. That lack of balance might affect your purchasing decision.
