File naming
It is very important to name your files with the correct extensions. Be careful
not to delete these extensions by mistake, or they will not be recognized properly by
their players. QuickTime uses .MOV, Windows Media uses .AVI and .WMV, and
RealPlayer uses .RM, .RA, and .SMIL.
Repurposing and optimizing are the tasks that will seem the most time-con-
suming and thankless in your portfolio process. Like most production work, this stage
can feel like an obstacle in the way of the fun, creative part of portfolio development.
But when you're finished, you'll be able to reuse most of your work again and again as
your portfolio requires.
