In-Depth Information
Our torso is looking pretty basic at the moment, but that is all we need for
now. Remember, we are blocking out the main shape in this section; details
and form rei nement will come in the next chapter.
Now would be a good time to Save your scene before we move on and add
her chest.
You can i nd the Silo scene created in this section in Chapter05/Files/
05_Torso.sib.
Chest
We have the main torso, but she is missing her breasts, so let's add those next.
For this, we will start with a sphere, and once positioned, we can connect it to
the torso to give us the shape we need.
Start by going to Create > Sphere and open the options window
( Figure 5.31 ).
S e t Radius t o 1 , Sections t o 6 , and Height Sections t o 6 before clicking
Create .
We only need half the sphere, so select the sphere and press D to enter
face selection mode.
As illustrated in Figure 5.32, select the lower half with the middle mouse
button, and delete it.
Now we need to move it into place. First, looking from the side viewport,
move the cylinder up and scale it so it is roughly the correct size as in the
model sheet ( Figure 5.33a ).
Next, rotate the sphere, but we don't want it at an exact 90 degrees. If you
imagine the point is where the nipple would be, we want it to point up
slightly ( Figure 5.33b ).
Next, switch back to the front view.
