In-Depth Information
FIG. 8.68 Start to rework the topology to blend the lower ear correctly.
Start by selecting and Merging an edge in front of the Helix ( Figures 8.68b,
and 8.68c). This should be at the bottom of an n-gon so the upper ear will
be i ne—it will, however, give us a triangle.
Select the outer edge of this triangle (Figure 8.68d) and Spin it until it is
like that in Figure 8.68e.
Now focus on the inner ear and create a new Cut running from beside the
triangle on the Anthelix down to the triangle on the Lobe ( Figure 8.69b ).
N o w Delete the edge between the triangles, and Merge the lower triangle
to clean up the area.
Feel free to play around with the shape of the ear until you are satisi ed. As
it stands, we can leave the ear as it is; as you can see from Figure 8.70 it is
working quite well.
As always, you are welcome to add in a little more detail if you want.
Figure 8.71 shows our final ear, after a few more tweaks and adjustments
to the shape and topology, but do not feel you need to copy these if you
are happy to move on.
(You can find the Silo scene created in this section in Chapter08/Files/08_
Ear.sib.)
