FIG. 6.40
Create more cuts over the shoulder to clean the topology.
That's the i rst cut; now we need a second cut. Select a new set of edges
now running over and then down the back of her shoulder ( Figure 6.40c),
and Cut them ( Figure 6.40 d).
What you should have now are two joined triangles (Figure 6.40d). Create
a Cut on each side of these (Figure 6.40e), and then Delete the edges
forming the cross.
This gives us a cleaner shoulder area with more geometry to work with. Let's
now add an extra cut around the armpit area, again giving us more geometry
to work with as we reshape her.
The best way to do this is to select an entire ring of edges around her arm
( Figure 6.41 ).
Once selected, simply Cut them, making sure to check the new cut for
triangles that can be Merged to remove them.
Adding all this extra geometry around the shoulder blade has left us with
two large n-gons (Figure 6.42a). To remove them we will adjust the topology,
bending the l ow of the polygons to form a new edge ring.
Start by creating two vertical Cuts across each n-gon.
