well-contrasted conversion. If you compare this to selecting “Default”, you'll
see that the image looks much l atter otherwise.
2. With a mind towards what the colors were (remember, you can always
toggle the Preview button in the upper right of ACR to see the image
without adjustments), you can now move the sliders to lighten or darken
any of the listed tone values.
In my case, I found that further lightening the grass and cars (Oranges and
Yellows) and further darkening the sky (Blues) presented me with an even
more appealing monochromatic contrast.
Step 5: Split Toning
One of ACR's easy and powerful features not found anywhere in Photoshop
is the ability to split tone, which is to apply two separate hues - one to the
highlights, and the other to the shadow regions.
Tip:
While moving the
Hue slider, hold the
Option key - this gives
a preview of all hues at
100% saturation and
saves a ton of time.
1. Within the Split Toning palette, grab the Highlight Hue slider and pull
slowly to the right.
2. Once you've decided upon a highlight tone, repeat Step 1 with the
Shadow tone.
