9. If the Model Explorer panel is not visible click the Model Explorer
icon on the Manage toolbar.
10. For each item listed in the Model Explorer panel, if there is a gold
lock icon showing the lock closed, click it to change it to a gray icon
that shows an open lock.
This will make each of the items in the model selectable.
11. If the Data Sources panel is not available, click Data Sources on the
Manage toolbar.
The Data Sources panel will open as its own section or as a second
tab within the window containing the Model Explorer panel.
12. Widen the Name column by clicking the gray line at the right side of
the column heading and dragging it to the right. Widen it so that you
can see the names of the data sources.
13. Locate the USER_Bridges folder (you may need to scroll down).
Under USER_Bridges, right-click BayBridge_WestApproach and click
Select Features.
Notice how the model of the bridge highlights in the foreground
(see FigureĀ 1.11).

14. Under USER_Landmarks, right-click CoitTower and click Select Features.
Watch carefully as the tower model highlights at the far-right side
of the current view.
15. Under USER_Buildings Downtown, right-click SFBldgs_SOMA_E
and click Select Features.
Here we see that a single model represents a large number of
buildings.
