Missing something?
Does it seem like you aren't seeing some of the things discussed in this exercise?
Perhaps your visual quality settings are too low. Open the Settings and Utilities
toolbar and click Application Options. Click 3D Graphics then select Optimize
for Quality under Optimize Graphics. Move the Display Detail slider to the right
(toward High) until the missing items appear. You may notice that performance
slows down a bit but you can change these settings back after the exercise is over.
16. Under Roads, right-click STCLINES_STREETS and click Select
Features.
Notice the various roads that are highlighted in the model.
17. Press Esc to clear the selection of the roads. Click Bookmarks on the
Utility Bar, scroll down and select the Presidio Parkway bookmark.
Your view of the model now changes to one with the city in
background.
18. On the Manage toolbar, click Manage Surface Layers.
19. Under Ground Imagery and Coverages, click the light bulb icon next
to All to turn it off. Click Apply.
As you view the model, you now see that much of the detail that
you were seeing was provided by aerial photos draped over the ter-
rain. You can still see the terrain, but it is now represented in a plain
tan color (see FigureĀ 1.12).
