In-Depth Information
Go to the topic's web page at www.sybex.com/go/infraworksessentials and
download the files for Chapter 6. Unzip the files to the correct location on your
hard drive according to the instructions in the introduction.
1. If it is not already open, launch InfraWorks.
2. On the Start Page, click Open and browse to C:\InfraWorks Essentials\
Chapter 06\ . Click Ch06 Bimsville Bypass.sqlite and click Open.
3. In the top-right corner of your screen, click the Proposals drop-down
list and select Ex_6_1_to_6_3.
You'll notice that the model extent has been reduced to include
only the industrial park area. Since you will be maximizing some
of the visualization settings, it will be helpful to be working with a
smaller model extent to reduce the load on your computer.
4. Restore the Industrial Park bookmark.
5. Click Settings And Utilities on the main toolbar.
6. Click Application Options on the Settings And Utilities toolbar.
7. In the Application Options dialog, click Model Generation.
8. Set Building Facade Detail to High.
9. For Facade Atlas Limit, type 1 . Click OK to dismiss the Application
Options dialog.
10. Click Regenerate on the Settings And Utilities toolbar.
11. After the model is finished regenerating, restore the Industrial Park
bookmark. Zoom out and notice how the building changes to a solid
color.
This change happens fairly close to the building because you
reduced Facade Atlas Limit to 1.
12. Zoom in closely to the building and notice the detail that is now
present. The building should match what you see in FigureĀ 6.3.
This is because you set Facade Detail to High.
