In-Depth Information
the settings that are available. For example, for a Bridge type,
there are settings for wall and pylon dimensions along with other
bridge-specific settings.
Material group A material group is a listing of materials that
you can select from when compiling and arranging the different
materials you'll need for the road style. For example, a material
group for a road style typically has pavement, curb, and sidewalk
materials, among others. When configuring a road style, you can
select materials only from this group, so the material group you
assign must contain everything you need for that style.
road Intersection Material Typically this is the same material
you would specify for the main road surface, but you can specify a
different material for road intersections so that you're able to gen-
erate the look and effect you want in the intersection areas.
outer Material Use this setting to define the material that is
displayed for the outer portions of the road.
Lane Markings Material When its visibility is turned on, this
material is applied automatically between lanes.
decorations Decorations are 3D models that are inserted at
intervals along the road. These can be light poles, barriers, signs,
or any 3D model that you have access to.
track settings These are the settings that construct the road. A track is a
strip of material that is oriented parallel to the road's path. A track could be a
lane, shoulder, curb, sidewalk, or any other strip of material that you want to
include in the setup of your road. FigureĀ 5.16 shows the Track Settings section
of the road style configuration dialog, followed by the settings contained within
that section:
