Imperfec t data?
When you're working with different types of data from different sources, you
may find discrepancies—places where one source of data doesn't exactly match
another. For example, in this project you may have noticed that some of the creeks
do not exactly follow the valleys defined by the terrain. Or, you may have noticed
that the roads don't perfectly match the roads shown in the aerial photo. The
methods used to produce this data are intended for large-scale mapping and may
be accurate only within +/-10 feet, or even more. Most of the time the accuracy
of the data will be adequate for your purposes, but sometimes you may have to
adjust things a bit so that they make sense. For example, in Exercise 4.3, it was
odd to see a river passing through several buildings. That is easily fixed, though,
thanks to the handy editing tools provided in InfraWorks.
