exercise 3.5: edit Coverages
If you are continuing from the previous exercise, you can skip to step 3. Otherwise,
if you haven't already done so, go to the topic's web page at www.sybex.com/go/
infraworksessentials and download the files for Chapter 3. Unzip the files
to the correct location on your hard drive according to the instructions in the
introduction.
1. If it is not already open, launch InfraWorks.
2. On the Start Page, click Open and browse to C:\InfraWorks
Essentials\Chapter 03\ . Click Ch03 Bimsville Bypass.sqlite
and click Open.
3. Select the Ex_3_5 proposal. You should see the model as it would
appear at the end of Exercise 3.4 with the new coverages added. You'll
also notice that a road has been drawn through the industrial park area.
4. Click Bookmarks on the Utility Bar to open the Bookmarks panel.
5. Click Industrial Park.
InfraWorks will zoom to an area overlooking the proposed indus-
trial park area.
6. Click the large green coverage and do one of the following based on
the result:
If the blue Shape Terrain arrow appears, right-click and select
Edit Vertices.
If neither the blue Shape Terrain arrow nor gizmos appear,
right-click and select Edit.
If the gizmos appear, move on to step 7.
7. Right-click near the edge of the green coverage to the north of the
triangular parking lot and select Add Vertex.
8. Repeat the previous step so that you have two new vertices in a loca-
tion similar to what is shown in Figure 3.31.
