editing roads
You don't need to be too picky about how you define the initial path of a road
because InfraWorks provides plenty of handy editing tools. The simplest to use
are the two gizmos that appear at each vertex. Before you can access those giz-
mos, however, you must first enter edit mode . There are three ways to do this.
The first is to expand the InfraWorks icon, click the Create icon on the main
toolbar, and then click Edit on the Create toolbar, as shown in Figure 3.10.

fIgure 3.10 Edit mode can be activated by clicking the icons in the order shown.
The second way to enter edit mode is to click a road, right-click, and select
Edit from the shortcut menu, as shown in Figure 3.11. Once edit mode is acti-
vated, it stays that way until you turn it off. When it is activated, gizmos will
appear immediately when you click an object. When edit mode is not activated,
you can highlight objects and do some basic modification through a shortcut
menu, but you cannot change the geometry.
