Fashion hounds flock to this spacious Bastille
boutique for Marant's youthful designs with an exotic
edge. This is one designer who looks like she has
some fun at her drawing board. Marant's imaginative
designs favour natural fibres, often combined to create
luxury items with a bohemian feel; a style that has
made her one of Paris's top young designers. Clothes
hang perfectly, especially fluid jersey dresses; flirty,
floral tops and lots of silks and satin. When chilly
winds blow, there's more substantial gear, including
nubbly wool skirts cut on the bias, boiled wool coats
with appliquéd or embroidered details, mohair
jumpers and hippy-style bobble hats.
Recently, Marant has expanded to add accessories
to her collection, in the shape of sassy bags and
shoes, jewellery (delicate drop earrings and graceful
silver necklaces) and perky singlets and shorts.
