Bataclan historic venue
50 boulevard Voltaire, 11ème
01 43 14 35 35
This former vaudeville theatre may have lost its
original Chinese pagoda façade, but the sumptuous
interior still provides an enticing setting for the varied
concerts of indie, trip-hop, French chanson and world
music. The charming auditorium has a fantastic vibe,
but the acoustics can be less than perfect.

In an unlikely spot at the top of Ménilmontant, this
popular venue puts on regular rock, pop, funk and
jazz concerts, as well as hosting highbrow literature
evenings in the Café Littéraire. The recently added
restaurant also ensures that art is not enjoyed on an
empty stomach. Some concerts are free.

redcygne.free.fr • Q Télégraphe
This small and intimate dance space has been hugely
influential in promoting new forms of artistic expres-
sion. The bare-bones studio is famed for its occasional
Spectacles Sauvages, when artists showcase work in
progress during lively ten-minute slots. Classical- and
contemporary-music concerts are also held here.

This three-masted Chinese junk on the Seine hosts an
extremely varied programme of music for party-loving
audiences of up to 200. Feel the narrow boat rock to
hip-hop and indie concerts or sway gently to jazz and
world music. Film screenings and improvized theatre
shows also make it aboard on occasions.
