ences in deltaE occur between the source and destination colors. The
lighter tones approaching white show the greater differences between the
original image colors and the resulting colors after gamut compression.
An info palette provides the deltaE values in the image as the user moves
the cursor over the image. Notice in Fig. 8-15 that the spectral gradient
is nearly pure white throughout as the deltaE value is very high. This
makes sense since these highly saturated RGB colors are virtually impos-
sible to reproduce using a Matchprint CMYK output profile.
Info Viewer
Info Viewer area of GamutWorks provides a wealth of information about
any item (profile or image) selected in the list found in the upper left of
the interface. In Fig. 8-16 I've selected the printer test file that provides
information on the image file—size, embedded profile—as well as de-
