respect for these people and their numeric editing skills. However, it's
necessary to put this notion into a modern perspective. Users who deal
with images intended for a single output device, day in and day out, know
what numbers will be optimal for the device they are aiming for. Today,
most users are scanning only once or shooting with a digital camera and
printing those images to a multitude of output devices. Just look at the
modern ink-jet printer and the dozens of papers available. Consider that
each paper will require a different set of numbers for optimal output. You
can see that memorizing all these numbers is harder than counting cards
