In-Depth Information
Zhongfu Lianzhong paid attention to materials and featured
experiments. The costs for experiments on materials alone exceeded
RMB 10 million.
Refined manufacturing lays a solid foundation for high quality
blades, but this alone cannot do the whole job. Zhongfu Lianzhong
has detailed rating standards in all manufacturing bases for quality
control, especially with onsite monitoring over key controlling
points to ensure the process. On the one hand, the monitor would
find common problems and locate the opportunity to improve
detailed work; on the other hand, the workers would fully display
their talents while enhancing awareness of quality.

Wind Power Pioneers
I am more of a junior standing on the shoulders of the giants,
compared with the predecessors, senior experts and leaders in
China's wind energy. I have been deeply inspired by their visions,
spirit of tenacity, and persistence, and how their contributions
shaped today's glory of China's wind power.
Chinese scientist Qian Xuesen devoted his attention and
guidance to China's wind energy and promoted its development.
On 10 September 1990, in the letter to Mr He Dexin, the president
of Chinese Wind Energy Association, Qian Xuesen proposed an
“electrical power program dominated with wind power” in China
and emphasised “wind power generation should be nothing but
big”. He also said, “we should improve awareness first to embrace
the socialist China in 21st century!”
Qian Xuesen proposed the following solutions for power
supply in the 21st century:
• Have four million standardised 500 kW wind power gene-
ration units;
• Fully tap into China's large, medium and small hydropower
resources;
• Use fuel gas peak value turbine generation units (but the
gas has to come from places like petrochemical plants, free
of pollution, instead of from coal. In addition, nuclear power
plant can be considered as a supplement for insufficient
supply).
