firm Planning Resources Inc. In 1980, Susan became assistant
professor of landscape architecture and principle investigator of a
$300, 000 Department of Energy “Small and Appropriate Techno-
logies” grant at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Susan moved back to her native Michigan in 1985 and settled
into a now 30 year live-in demonstration project of living “of the
grid”, in the Traverse city area. Susan and Steve married in 199.
Susan has taught art at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC)
for 1 years and, after receiving Masters in Clinical Social Work
(004, LMSW), Susan is now the sole proprietor of a private clinical
