feasibility study, which stated that I should focus on the production
of my 5 m blades and not enter into new dangerous projects
such as production of a “big” 7.5 m blade. I did not listen to their
advice, but rather went on to design and build the plug and mould
for the 7.5 m Økær blade in the winter and spring of 1980. On 13
March I delivered the first set of 7.5 m blades to Herborg Vindkraft
for the HVK Vestas 55 kW turbine.

Two years later, the 7.5 m blades were turning on hundreds
of Danish turbines from Vestas, Nordtank and Bonus, that soon
conquered the Californian market during the “Californian Wind
Rush”. We had a “no” from the Regional Development Fund, so
instead I managed to buy an industrial hall. In August 1980 we
moved our production from Sparkær to this facility in a nearby
